Established in 1996 to provide a quality education for the expatriate and local community from Playgroup to Lower Secondary School level. Sanur Independent School has gained a reputation as a school which provides a caring environment for its students and encourages the pursuit of excellence in academic, sporting and cultural endeavors. We recognize that each child is a unique and precious individual. Our aim at Sanur Independent School is to develop and promote each childs individual abilities and talents, and to inspire them to be lifelong learners. The Australian National Curriculum (ACARA) and CAMBRIDGE Curriculum are used as the framework upon which we build our curriculum. However, being an international school we also draw on resources from the United Kingdom, United States and other English speaking countries, enriched with Indonesian Curriculum for Religion, Civics and Bahasa Indonesia

Sanur Independent school

Sanur School aims to provide quality education in a safe, supportive, positive, create and friendly environment. Our highly qualified teachers develop programs based on the Australia Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority’s (ACARA) Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). The EYLF covers birth to 5 years and supports transition to formal schooling. The framework provides broad direction for early childhood educators to facilitate children’s learning, it guides educators in curriculum decision making and assists in planning, implementing and evaluating quality in an early childhood setting. Our playgroup and Kindy educators use the learning outcomes, principles and practiced outlined in the EYLF to ensure quality and consistency in the teaching of this group.

Sanur school uses the preparatory year as a transition to primary school; this is the year of schooling where students develop the foundation skills, knowledge and understanding to ensure a smooth transition to formal schooling. Our Prep classroom follows the curriculum outlined ACARA with play-based learning underpinning the way the learning experiences are created. Allowing our students to learn through the play-based teaching method allows them to explore and develop their own knowledge and understanding with the teachers beside them scaffolding, guiding and extending their learning
