Bali Center for Artistic Creativity

Bruce Sherratt has a strong background in the psychology of artistic creativity, having done extensive work on Fantasy in art education at university. Bruce’s background in art therapy is primarily Jungian and also includes Freudian and Gestalt theory. Bruce carried out extensive research into the ‘Object Relations’ school of thought, especially the importance of fantasy in the creative process.

HighScope Indonesia focuses on learning and building positive character from an early age. We facilitate learning by creating a supportive environment that builds sincere relationships, and helps young children learn about the world and how to relate to others. HighScope develops children's social and emotional skills through opportunities to fluently express feelings and sharpen both their imagination and creativity. Under professional guidance, early age children familiarize themselves with interaction, problem-solving, manipulation of objects, and involvement in events. Our early learning student activities are based on cultivating each child's uniqueness. By doing so, we create a supportive environment in the development of academic and social potential. Our teachers play a significant role in shaping this environment by fostering genuine relationships with students, guiding students towards optimizing their social and academic potential.

Our elementary students are fully equipped with the basic skills of 3R (reading, writing, and arithmetic). We emphasize the development of initiative, leadership, inter and intrapersonal skills, plus management skills; all through our unique Project-Based Cycle & Plan-Do-Review process.
 
There is no "one-size-fits-all approach" when it comes to student needs and their different phases of development. HighScope teachers strive to fulfill all needs, be it academic or non-academic. 
Employing Differentiated Instruction - differentiating content, processes, and products - teachers map student readiness, interests, and learning profiles to design the best-suited lessons. Our curriculum is the best of both worlds since it corresponds with international standards while also covering the required national content. 
We prepare learning activities that promote confidence for our elementary students, enhancing their academic and social capabilities. They are introduced to our specially designed plan-do-review method, leading them to value both the process and end results, which enriches their learning experiences. In addition, we encourage students to develop their unique intrapersonal, interpersonal, and academic skills through the generation of their own thinking and ideas.

We are a full-time, part-time, casual drop in immersive and experientially-orientated learning centre for developing children. We hold the sacredness of childhood and nature as infinitely more important than the far too accepted 100-year industrial revolution wave of academically pressured teaching upon children. At Open Flow, we curate a daily organic design of how Language, Mathematics, and Science are approached. We know that children will arrive at these places as a natural consequence of their development and comfortable relationship with place and people
